Gorgeous Day

What an amazingly beautiful day here in the northwest. It is always easier to start the day when the sun is shining. It will be a productive day. Networking, volunteering, and working are all on the agenda for the day. Some people say they are too busy. I say if you aren’t busy then your doing something wrong. You just need to have the correct balance. Your health should always be a priority. If your not healthy your not good to anyone and anything. Make sure to have time allotted for exercise and healthy eating. Not scheduling a time to eat food is insane. Prepare if you cannot plan it.

Today’s business

Today people need to make sure they are aware of their competition but do not copy them. Be an individual or as original as possible. I know that some companies have many rules and regulations for what you can do to with marketing materials but that does not mean you have to stay in a box. There are many ideas to stay fresh and stay within guidelines.

Back to the Basics

A week ago a finished up a large project and I was feeling worried about it. I felt that I needed that daily work to keep me fulfilled and the money was consistent therefore I was worried about loosing that too. This week I am focused and ready to take on anything that comes my way. I have been neglecting the basics in business. Thank you’s, short and sweet get togethers, calls, updating contacts, etc. Spring is in the air. It is not as warm as I think it should be but that’s OK when it comes it will be all the more appreciated.
I think I am going to make a list of things I want to be doing that I did not have time for before. Business will grow. I know it.

Business today

I find it interesting that some businesses fail in this economy and some thrive. Better yet people open a new business. Especially in a location that another just failed. Is it cockiness that makes the next guy believe he is going to do better? That they have something Special that people will be drawn to?
I truly find it fascinating and fantastic all at the same time. I truly wish all new business owners the best of…..luck, patience, it???

Independence Day

Independence Day will be celebrated all over this wonderful country this weekend. I am looking forward to a few days  of family and friends. This holiday makes me think about the American dream and all of the entrepreneurs out there that have tried and succeed or failed. All people have the chance and opportunity because of the good old US of A. I hope that no matter what happens with my business I always feel joy in the fact that I tried. I took the chance.

It would not be the United States if there was not competition. Every where I go there is constantly the thought that I need to out do or out sell the competition. I need to change my way of thinking and concentrate on just being the best I can be for my customers. Repeat business is a sign of doing a great job. I want to focus on being the best Mark-itz can be. My customers are always looking for the item that will set them apart from their competitors. Or what will make them stand out in a crowd. I have figured out the only way for me to stand out is to make my customers stand out. I am doing my job well if I get people excited about their own companies.

A New Baby or Business?

When I was pregnant there was always someone freely giving me advice on how I should raise my baby. Now that I have a new business I find that there is the same type of free unsolicited advice.  Don’t get me wrong I appreciate people trying to help me.  My only thing is when people feel offended when you disagree with them or you do not take their sage advice. In this world no matter if you are a mother or a business owner you have to make your own mistakes and learn from them. Hope that no mistake is too large that you cannot recover from it.

Hello world! This is my very first blog. What to say? Well, one year ago I started on my journey of owning my own business. We moved to a new area of the country and without knowing anyone within a 10 hour drive took on a new adventure. Meeting new people and making a name for our business has been the number one goal. mark-itz
The website is a work in progress but it is better than most. I am proud of everything I have been able to accomplish this year so far!
